blush sweater blazer

If there's a color I've been obsessed with this spring, it's blush. So when J. Crew had a sale on this oh so cozy looking sweater blazer, I had to snag it. Sweater blazers are another one of my current obsessions. I love that they are polished but still insanely comfortable and look a bit more dressy than a simple cardigan. Win. Win. Win. While still available in most sizes in the blush, sadly it's not on sale at the moment. With a $138 price tag, I definitely recommend waiting for a sale. I know I have my eye on the classic sky (light blue) as well. So pretty. It's runs really large, I got mine in an XL and while it fits well in the chest/waist, the arms are big. I love the oversize feel, but if you want a more fitted look, I recommend going down a size.

Funnily enough, this blazer was a win with my daughter as well. She loved that it has deep pockets to store all the toys she tries to sneak into daycare. :) Speaking of the kiddo, I did something a bit bad this morning. At almost four-years-old, we'd never cut her hair. It was long and beautiful (when she'd actually let us brush it), but it constantly was full of snarls and fixing it was a nightmare full of tears and complaining that it hurt. She has refused to let us cut it for months. This morning while we were getting her ready, I grabbed a pair of scissors and while brushing her hair snipped off about three inches. I about cried - all that sweet baby hair - but she didn't even notice the difference. All that drama-rama about not cutting it... and then nothing. So while I've been beating myself up about it, I think she's actually happy it doesn't hurt to brush anymore. But I still feel a bit guilty about it. Was it a bad parent moment to do it without her permission? Sometimes reasoning with toddlers is impossible - which is what we've been trying to do for months. Either let us brush it, or cut it. And cut it we did.

  2. Uh oh, I clicked through and saw that there's a 30% off promo going on now. Very tempted - I can see it being worn a ton! Love the softness of this outfit, in the colors and textures.

And ah, 4-year-olds. It never feels good to carry it out, but sometimes I think we do just need to take charge like that as parents, so they learn consequences and boundaries and yada yada. I've been feeling the back and forth of guilt on that in a few issues lately too, so I feel you! But in the end everyone will probably be happier now that you can have fewer arguments about tangled hair :)

    1. I really, really want this blazer in the class sky color as well, but I'm waiting for a really good sale before I pull the trigger.

It's been about two weeks, and can you believe the kiddo still hasn't noticed that we cut her hair? All that anxiety for nothing. :)
