ruffle sleeves

tripe ruffle sleeve top, navy pencil pants, blush scallop flats 7

I hope everyone had a great Easter! After having family in town all week, Sunday was a rather chill day for us involving cookie decorating, napping and laundry. And trust me, it was much needed. We had planned to go to church, but despite best intentions, that didn't happen. I feel a smidgen guilty about it, but after all the running around we desperately needed a quiet day.

Speaking of subdued things, is this outfit. While it's nothing to write home about, thankfully the ruffle sleeves save it from being too boring. I was thinking the other day about how each decade has it's defining styles...bell bottoms in the 70s, acid wash jeans in the 80s, flannel in the 90s, tattoo chokers in the 00s...but now everything seems like a bit of a mishmash, an everything goes kind of decade. But there are a few trends I've seen pop up that we'll look back on and be like, yup, that's so the 2010s...like crop skinny jeans, OTK boots...and ruffle sleeves. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of this fun trend. But it's one that seems like it's all of a sudden everywhere. While I don't consider myself a trendy dresser, but this is one trend I can definitely get behind. (I'm kind of obsessed with the dress version of this shirt.) All the ruffle sleeved things please!

  1. You look fab! Love this top - it fits my "basics with a twist" style goals so perfectly! I actually just ordered/received the J.Crew version :)

And love a quiet day - I had the opposite, with 17 people at my house for an Easter brunch. We did get in some cookie decorating before they came though, which was nice because then we got help eating them, ha!

    1. Ooo...did you end up liking the J. Crew version? I've been contemplating getting the red/white one.

Easter brunch sounds like fun. We were supposed to have my in-laws over, but they canceled the day of, so we ended up having a nice, quiet day instead. :)
